Karwari Fish Fry

Dipayan Ghosh
  • Clean Anchovy Fish / Boneless fish finger or slice – 150gm
  • Ginger & garlic paste – 1tsp
  • Lemon juice – 5ml
  • Curry leaf – 1 gm
  • Fresh coriander – 5gm
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Cumin powder – 1tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1tsp
  • Salt- to taste
  • Besan (Gram flour) – 2tsp
  • Egg – 1 no.
  • Suji (Semolina) – 250gm
  • Oil – 250ml

Process: -

Step1: - Fish marination

Add the mentioned items in a bowl, ginger & garlic paste – 1tsp, lemon juice – 5ml, fresh coriander – 5gm, salt- to taste, turmeric powder – ½ tsp, red chilli powder – ½ tsp, cumin powder – 1tsp, besan – 2tsp, beaten egg – 2tsp, mix well. Add fishes and marinate for 30 mins.

Step2: - Dusting of Fish

Nicely coat the marinated fish with suji (semolina).

Step3: - Frying of Fish

Fry the quoted fish in moderate heated oil till it gets cooked and golden brown in colour.

Serve hot with mint chutney / tomato ketchup.
